Selena Gomez has been releasing a steady stream of new music recently, scoring top 40 hits with recent singles “It Ain’t Me,” “Bad Liar” and “Fetish,” and on Wednesday (Oct. 25) unveiling her Marshmello collab "Wolves." And the 25-year-old star says there's more to come "soon" -- in fact, she's recorded two albums' worth of new tracks.

"I'm ready. I want to get back in and re-focus on all of my music," Gomez explained to Apple Music's Zane Lowe on Wednesday. "To be honest, I feel like I have two albums already completed, but I'm wanting to figure it out. So it's a lot sooner than I think people anticipate. I want to call the shots, I want it to be good, I want to be ready, I don't want to do anything that's forced. It will be soon."

The singer also opened up about taking time off from her work and releasing music on her own terms. Last year, she canceled her Revival World Tour in favor of a three-month self-imposed hiatus and recently took to social media to reveal her struggle with lupus that resulted in the need for a kidney transplant.

"I wanted my music to be a lot more meaningful, to be honest.... I just wanted to take my time," Gomez explained. "I didn't want it to be crowded by over-glamorized things and the pop world can just be really distracting sometimes. This year, I did it at my own pace."

She adds that "Wolves" may be one of her most personal records yet: "The song is very beautiful and personal. Weirdly, at the same time I was working on it in Japan, I was going through stuff too, so it's mirrored everything."

Oh, and if you're wondering, Gomez has heard her buddy Taylor Swift's hotly anticipated Reputation and she's a "major fan."

"Would you expect any less?" Gomez joked when asked whether Swift's upcoming album will be up to par. "She's killin' it. It's everything you would want and more."
