Post spokesman Chris Haug did not provide any details about the person who went missing in the swollen Clear Creek early Tuesday. According to a Fort Hood statement issued late Tuesday, the person's vehicle had been located but not the driver.

Haug said three other people, including at least one soldier, escaped their respective vehicles Monday night after being caught up in high water on the base.

In nearby Killeen, more than 8 inches fell on the town of 140,000 located some 60 miles north of Austin. Chief Bell County Deputy Chuck Cox said they had to perform at least 32 water rescues Tuesday morning, according to KWTX.com. It was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the water rescues.

Just to the east of Killeen, flash flooding was also reported in the town of Nolanville. In Temple, a stretch of Interstate 35 was closed in both directions by flooding, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Jodi Wheatley told KXXV.com. Further north, a lane of I-35 was closed in Waco after a mudslide was triggered in a construction zone north of Baylor University, according to a separate KWTX report.
